Our Value to Our Customers
  • Pacific Bindery staff are well trained, highly skilled and many have long term experience in the industry
  • We have superior and varied equipment (i.e. designed for higher volumes, faster setup, more versatile, faster running, etc.) and offer a wide range of services
  • This is all we do - our knowledge and experiences are more specialized and focused
  • We can do jobs that the printer’s own equipment can’t do because it is tied up with other work. Due to our dedication to bindery and finishing services specifically, we are able to turnaround orders very quickly, cost effectively and with high quality. This is the primary reason (other reasons might be a surge in orders or equipment failure resulting in a back up of demand) for overtime and the Company's need to schedule multiple shifts. We simply would not get much of this work if we couldn't get it out fast.

    This point illustrates a chronic challenge for trade binderies - that is the widely fluctuating workload. Printers have this problem too, but it is accentuated in trade binderies because when the printer is busy, they will tend to send out some of the work that they are equipped to do. When the printer is slow, they will do the work in-house. As most printers tend to be busy (or slow) at the same time, the workload variation in the bindery, therefore, is much more extreme. Historically this has been particularly apparent during March and April - although in recent years that time period has not been as busy due to a reduction in the number of annual reports being printed.
